We are looking for a motivated and hands-on Junior Development Engineer (m/f/d) with a background in mechatronics, electrical engineering, medical technology, or a related field.
You will join our System Integration team and contribute to the further development, testing, and optimization of the Molecular Cartography platform – a cutting-edge system for spatial biology research.
This position is ideal for recent university graduates who want to gain practical experience in product development and learn how complex bioanalytical instruments are built, tested, and brought to life.
The role is based in the company’s headquarters in Monheim am Rhein, Germany.
Your Responsibilities:
- Support the assembly, integration, and functional testing of advanced prototypes and pre-series instruments.
 - Assist in the execution and documentation of system and sub-module tests, including verification and reliability testing for regulatory qualification.
 - Collaborate with engineers and scientists to analyze test data and identify design or process improvements.
 - Contribute to the technical documentation, such as test reports, change logs, and assembly guides.
 - Participate in troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, or fluidic issues in close cooperation with senior engineers.
 - Help maintain and organize our internal assembly and service area (tools, test setups, components).
 
- Contribute to CAD updates or minor mechanical design changes (e.g. in Autodesk Inventor).
 - Develop simple test routines or analysis scripts (e.g. in Python or LabVIEW).
 - Get involved in prototype improvement and feedback to design and manufacturing partners.
